I tried steaming my carpet with a Rug Doctor, and it didn’t work, so I bought a Bissell Proheat. I wanted to use up all the cleaner that I bought for the Rug Doctor before I purchase Bissell carpet shampoo for my new cleaner. The shampoo for the Rug Doctor says it’s compatible with all carpet cleaning machines, but the Proheat manual says only to use the Bissell products. I’m a little confused here. Should I use the Rug Doctor shampoo or not?
I know how to use the steam cleaner. I’m just wondering if a carpet shampoo that says it’s for all steam cleaners is safe to use in my Bissell or not if it doesn’t specifically say that it’s compatible with my Bissell cleaner.
So, @clayton, you’re saying that it would be best to make my own carpet cleaning solution with a recipe like this: 1 quart of soft water, 1/4 cup white vinegar or lemon juice, 2-4 Tablespoons human hair shampoo?
