My cat(s) has urinated twice on my carpet. I have done EVERYTHING. Nothing seems to remove the odor. I have no padded carpeting. I DON’T want anything that will stain my carpet either. I bought a Hoover carpet cleaner and have been cleaning my carpet for days. I’ve tried "Resolve", "Pine Sol", "vinegar and water solution", "Simple Green", "Skunk Odor Remover", "Live Micro 535", "alcohol and water solution", and "Draft" fragrance spray. I bought "Out! Stain and Odor Remover" so I’m going to try this. My cats are very old and I cannot deal with this anymore. I don’t know what I’m going to do, besides having to euthanize them. I don’t need anyone telling me I’m a horrible pet owner, because I’m not. I need some HELP! What can I use that will remove this cat urine odor. Removing my carpet is not an option. Is there anything else that can remove this odor?
Both of my cats are in their late teens almost twenty. I have brought them BOTH to the veterinarian. I’m also a Veterinarian Assistant. My one cat has had many strokes and suffers from dementia. NOTHING is wrong with them, besides old age. My carpet has NO PADDING either, and pulling it up to wash is not an option. I’ve asked advice from everyone even googled.
By the way THANK-YOU for the advice.

My toilet overflowed while I was at work (for a long time). The whole room smells of urine. The carpeting is indoor/outdoor and no padding.
Does anyone have a suggestion? Except hiring a pro or total removal. No budget to work with.

My son got into the food coloring and emptied the entirety of the red, yellow, blue, and green colors onto our glass table. Luckily, the coloring cleaned up easily from the table, however, the areas the coloring puddled and dripped onto the carpet are deeply soaked. There are just small dots about the size of a quarter that is dyed black on the carpeting, but there was so much dye, I cannot get it out. The coloring keeps spreading and the carpet stain is getting bigger! I am using Resolve foam for carpet stains, any other suggestions?

We just steamed cleaned our carpeting (with a rented steam cleaner) and while we are waiting for it to dry – it really has a bad odor all throught the house!!!! We have been doing this yearly for the past 15 years and have never had this problem….Any suggestions or thoughts about what happened? Or advise on a product I can buy that will neutralize the odor in the carpet?

I would like to use affordable green flooring, but Marmoleum is way more expensive than Vinyl and I think it is a flooring you should have professionally installed. Tile and adhesive will cost over 1300 for my 300 square kitchen area, not including installation.
Also, I have read many reviews of unhappy customers who complain about the maintenance of the floor and general disgust for the lack of sheen. I do not want to even think about investing into this floor if it will be hard to clean. I do not plan on staying at this house for more than 5 years, and would not want to have troubles selling bc of the kitchen floors.
Also I want to try recycled PET carpet for the upstairs bedrooms, its seems affordable. (I do need carpeting, im not putting in hardwood floors) Any experience with Beaulieu carpet or any other recycled PET carpet??
I do have to pay for school, bills, and eventually next year i need to replace the siding and windows. (more issues with vinyl versus costly alternatives)
Thanks!

My cat uses her litter box – but will also piss on clothing I leave on the floor, which then soaks into the carpet. How do I clean the carpet to get rid of the smell? I don’t want to hire a professional cleaner and I don’t have a carpet cleaning machine.
Also – how do I get the cat to STOP doing that? She’s pissed on my jeans, shorts, and leather jacket now in the past 2 weeks. The common thing I’ve noticed is that it’s only when my clothing is left on the carpeting. She won’t piss on them (not yet) if they are sitting on a table or couch or anything that’s elevated above floor level. She also only pisses on stuff I’ve worn – not the stuff I leave on the floor fresh from the washing machine.
I’m going to try to make a habit of not leaving my clothing on the floor – but still – I want it to stop.
The cat is a 9 year old female that was "fixed" already. The cat has lived with me in my mother’s house from 1998-2004. My apartment 2005-2006. A friend’s house 2006-2007. Now she’s back with me again in my apartment.

My kids seem to not listen when running around the house without shoes on and also with their socks on. They seem to either run bare foot or track mud all over the place. Well I steam cleaned my carpeting with my Bissell and followed the manufacturers recommendations on how much solution to put in my steam cleaner. Well now the carpeting is sticky and if anyone runs through the house it automatically shows the dirt. It looks horrible and I want a clean carpet, not one that smells like feet and old socks.

I have purchased an air purifier and bought bed covers and hypoallergenic pillows and pillow covers. I have removed my dusty drapes. I have carpeting that i can not remove…anything i can do or buy to reduce allergens that comes from carpets.
I’m not going to hire someone to clean my carpets so they can get dusty a couple days later. That’s expensive. I’m in college.
Also, share any tips on reducing allergies in a bedroom. Thanks

Our carpeting is 13 yrs old. It started out "oatmeal" varigated in color, but despite regular vacuuming and paying to have the floors power cleaned, it looks horrible and everyone’s a bit worried what could be living under it…eek! We all know we need a replacement (the whole house, likely, but money’s *more* than tight.
Does anyone know of any product, esp. green, esp. easy to clean *super well*—maybe carpet alternatives with some "cush"/"spring" to the step (the alternate to carpet padding) to help tame the pain that would come with very hard floors? We live in the southwest–I’ve read bamboo is mostly termite free, esp. when impregnated with boron. But really, money’s the "make it or break it" point. Suggestions? So many thank yous: )
