does anyone know if there are any carpet steam cleaners (that actually work good) on the market that you do not need to use a chemical cleaning solution in addition to the steam. I have a baby, so there are constantly messes, ie) spit up and pee getting on to my carpets. I want to clean them, however do not want to use any chemicals that he will come in contact with when on the floor.

I have an office and there are carpets in 3 rooms, I would like to hire a carpet cleaning company to clean up the carpets. Can you please recommend me a UK carpet cleaning with their website address or contact info?

I need a combination hardwood floor and carpet steam cleaner/scrubber. Does any one have a good recommendation for this? I have 2 cats and I don’t want to buy 2 separate units. I would like something that deep cleans carpets and can be used on hardwood floors. I am so tired of reading websites and reviews!!

I’m in need of a carpet cleaner for home use. Heavy stains on the carpet seem to be a reoccuring nightmare. I hired some local steam cleaners to come out and do the carpets and they looked great but it was like 125 bucks. What’s a good model to get and where at? Regular carpet shampooer or steam?

my dog has parvo virus and the only way to get rid of the virus is to use bleach. we are going to spray bleach on the back yard but i am afraid it is on my carpet as well the virus will live up to 6 months on any surface and i have two other healthy dogs. i do not want them to get sick. i was thinking of using my steam cleaner and putting very little bleach to water solution. would this work? i dont want to mess up my steam cleaner its still pretty new and i payed alot for it. but on the other hand i HAVE to get the virus out of my house. i have already bleached everything else in the house but the carpets. (also the dog with parvo was an outside dog but the day before we found out he had it we had him inside. he drooled on stuff and peed a little on the carpet.)
does anyone know if there is a product i could buy with bleach in it to maybe spray on my carpets or would it be ok to just spray a water bleach mix on them my actual vacum is cheap so if i break that while vacuming over some kind of bleach solution it doesnt matter

I have 3 children and a ’somewhat’ house trained puppy. My carpets are a mess. I am looking for one that heats the water and has a stair attachment. I have read good and bad about the bissel proheat model and I really don’t know of another brand to look at. Modest priced, please. What should I look for and what should I avoid? Thanks.

So, i have heard a few people say they use vinegar with hot water in their steam cleaner to clean their carpets and that is it? Ok, can it be that easy. I love vinegar and use it to clean alot in my house, but just wondering how it would work in a steam cleaner. If anyone has tried how much vinegar did you use. I just hate the idea of the chemical cleaners, so if you have any other solutions beside vinegar that isn’t chemically that’d be great too..

I just bought a house that has a bit of a dog smell in it and I want to both get rid of the smell and get my carpets as clean as possible. What are pros/cons for dry vs. wet shampooing?

I am just not sure which one to get. I have narrowed it down to five. The only one I have ever bought broke after 2 uses and we returned it. I need something that is reliable and works really well with pet and kid stains in carpets. Here is what I have:
http://www.amazon.com/Bissell-ProHeat-Upright-Cleaner-9200A/dp/B004ARQFH6/ref=sr_1_31?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1311705766&sr=1-31
http://www.amazon.com/Bissell-Bronze-PROheat-Cleanshot-Pet/dp/B00450VW0I/ref=sr_1_72?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1311706604&sr=1-72
http://www.amazon.com/Hoover-SteamVac-Carpet-Cleaner-F5914-900/dp/B00009R66F/ref=sr_1_7?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1311706859&sr=1-7
http://www.amazon.com/Hoover-MaxExtract-Carpet-Cleaner-Garnet-F7411900/dp/B0013YOMME/ref=sr_1_12?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1311706859&sr=1-12
http://www.amazon.com/Bissell-QuickSteamer-Multi-Surface-Upright-2090/dp/B000IHNMI2/ref=sr_1_19?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1311706859&sr=1-19
I would ask at a store, I just don’t want to be misled with the sales pitches. I just want an effective and reliable machine. Any suggestions?

If so, what model do you have and do you like it?
This applies to the parenting category because my children have trashed the carpets.
