does anyone know if there are any carpet steam cleaners (that actually work good) on the market that you do not need to use a chemical cleaning solution in addition to the steam. I have a baby, so there are constantly messes, ie) spit up and pee getting on to my carpets. I want to clean them, however do not want to use any chemicals that he will come in contact with when on the floor.

I may begin a job soon that would involve me doing dry foam carpet cleaning. However, I was hoping to try to get pregnant in the next year, and was wondering if it was safe to be around these chemicals while pregnant. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Our cat Milo is a barfer. We have found Green Works all purpose cleaner to be ineffective at cleaning carpet when he pukes his chunky industrial strength spew. We would like to use this product rather than harsh detergents and cleaners with other chemicals. Does anyone have any suggestions? We find a combination of Windex and liquid SpicnSpan works well, but this is not what we want to use.
Also, how can we make Green Works All purpose cleaner foam?
Very mean response D1985… We just want to do what is right. Why does this product use more energy or create more polution than others? Do you know how detergent is made? How about amonia? Why be mean?

I am looking for a non toxic replacement for the carpet cleaning fluid that I use in my steam cleaner. I have a Bissel steam machine but the cleaning fluid is so perfume-y and full of chemicals. Is there an all natural or at least non toxic alternative?

I want to clean our daughter’s carpet, but I don’t want all those strong chemicals. I already know about zero rez, but I’m not sure I’m going through them. Are there some organic carpet shampoos I could buy and put in a carpet cleaning machine? Or do all carpet machines only accept a certain kind of shampoo? Any advice helps…I’m in MN…thanks.

I would like to reduce waste by not having to purchase chemicals. Currently, I am making my own cleaners from products like vinegar and baking soda, but these items still use unnecessary packaging. I would like to try steam cleaning my entire home. I own a steam mop that I love and am considering using a portable steamer to clean things like my shower, sinks, cabinets, windows, etc. Many of the ones I find online have poor reviews.
How do you feel about these steamers and can you possibly recommend one?
